Description
- Sommer Canopy Door Bow Arm Converter
- To suit all canopy garage doors and remote control systems.
- A bow arm converter allows doors with canopy type operating gear to be electrically operated. If your door has springs across the top of the garage door and has side tracks, then generally it would require a bow arm converter to use with a motor unit.
- The bow arm converter will allow you to electrically operate a canopy door system without having to change the existing door mechanism to a retractable type. Provided the door is operating smoothly, and the door itself is strong enough to support the bow arm, there should be no issues in installing an electric opener. It is recommended to ensure the installed operator is powerful enough to operate the door, as the force required would be more than on a retractable mechanism.
- Please note: the bow arm will hang down by approx 6″ when the door is open – please ensure that if if you store a car etc in the garage, you have sufficient height available as to not impact on this.
